Get to Know Celebrities Who Love and Collect Labubu Dolls

The internet has a new obsession, and it comes in the form of Labubus, quirky collectible characters created in 2015 by Hong Kong illustrator Kasing Lung as part of The Monsters series.

Known for their playful designs and the thrill of the blind box unboxing experience, Labubus have skyrocketed in popularity, taking over TikTok feeds and celebrity timelines worldwide.

What makes Labubus especially appealing is the element of surprise. Fans often purchase them in sealed boxes, with no clue which character they’ll receive until the unboxing moment. This mix of mystery and fun has drawn in millions, including some of the biggest global celebrities.

At the top of the list is Olivia Attwood, who boasts what may be the largest Labubu collection. Olivia has described them as “modern art” and even threw a Labubu-themed birthday party in May, where guests received their own figures. She once unboxed 100 Labubus in preparation for the event, and her collection also includes a £175 special edition doll gifted by her husband, Bradley Dack.

Gemma Collins, the self-proclaimed GC, has also embraced the trend, sharing unboxing videos on Instagram and declaring her obsession with the toys while shopping at Selfridges.

The craze has even reached K-pop icons Lisa and Rosé of Blackpink. Lisa has been spotted with a giant Labubu plush and accessories, while Rosé proudly shared her own Labubu on Instagram. Lisa went as far as calling Labubus her “secret obsession” in a Vanity Fair interview.

In the U.S., Kim Kardashian showed off her impressive lineup of 10 Labubu figures on Instagram Stories, proving the toys are just as trendy in Hollywood.

Other celebrities jumping on the Labubu bandwagon include Rihanna, who was photographed with a lychee berry Labubu hanging from her Louis Vuitton bag in LA, and David Beckham, who received a rare edition as a birthday gift from his daughter, Harper.

Even pop star Dua Lipa has been spotted on multiple occasions with pink and grey Labubus adorning her designer handbags.

From fashion icons to sports legends, it’s clear that Labubus have transcended niche collectibles to become a global celebrity trend.
