Anne Hathaway was recently spotted in New York City shooting dramatic new scenes for The Devil Wears Prada 2, joined by acclaimed actor Kenneth Branagh, who made his first on-set appearance for the highly anticipated sequel.
The Idea of You star, 41, has officially stepped back into
her iconic role as Andy Sachs, nearly two decades after the original film
became a pop culture phenomenon.
For Thursday’s outdoor shoot, Hathaway looked effortlessly
chic in a sleek black top paired with high-waisted jeans. She layered the
outfit with an oversized raincoat and accessorized with a classic leather
handbag, perfectly channeling her character’s sophisticated fashion sense.
During filming, Hathaway’s Andy was seen emotionally
pleading with Branagh’s character on the doorstep of a luxurious Manhattan
townhouse. However, his character appeared unmoved, shutting the door on her in
a tense exchange.
Kenneth Branagh, 64, who recently joined the cast, is set to
play the husband of Meryl Streep’s legendary Miranda Priestly — the ruthless
editor-in-chief of the fictional fashion magazine Runway. For the scene, the
BAFTA-winning actor sported a sharp navy polo shirt, looking polished and
authoritative in his role.
The emotional encounter between Hathaway and Branagh comes
just days after their co-star Emily Blunt stunned fans by debuting a dramatic
new hairstyle on set. Blunt, reprising her role as Emily Charlton, looked
nearly unrecognizable compared to her appearance in the 2006 original, sparking
excitement about how her character has evolved in the sequel.
The upcoming film marks the long-awaited return of the
franchise that captured the fashion world’s imagination with its witty
dialogue, memorable characters, and behind-the-scenes look at the magazine
industry. Directed by returning creatives, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to
explore new dynamics while reuniting audiences with beloved characters.
Fans won’t have to wait too long — the film is officially
slated for release on May 1, 2026, promising to be one of the most anticipated
cinematic events of the decade.
